Black Spiders Lesson 3

Black Spiders Lesson #5

Sound Beginnings provides optional "Home Fun Activities" to help you interact with the music at home and enrich your child’s experience in class. If you choose to do these activities, please bring the materials to class each week in your Student Tote Bag. Your child will be excited to participate with their very own creations!

Children’s number sense begins with learning to count as a rote procedure. This is typically followed by matching each spoken number one on one with objects. The ability to count forward from a given number comes next, followed by learning to count backward. The numbers zero to five are optimal for introducing any of these concepts to the very young child. Our Five Green and Speckled Frogs cutouts can be used to practice these math concepts. Being able to hold and touch an object means these skills become less abstract and easier to understand.

Optional home fun activity: Do the Five Green and Speckled Frogs activity on page 21 & 31 in your workbook
(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
