Don't
forget, we will start promptly at 10 a.m. and class will be 30-45 min. in length. Instrument sharing will be first, followed the group singing "Miss
Mary Mack". Be sure to bring a treat to share with the group after our program!
Instrument Focus: Trumpet
The trumpet is in the brass instrument family. Trumpets are at least 3,500 years old and early versions were found in King
Tut's tomb! It was once made from a long, straight metal tube, but folding the tube made it more managable. The trumpet has three valves which can be
pressed with the fingers while the musician changes mouth shape and air pressure. Combinations of this creates all the different notes that are played
with the trumpet. Check out the talented Alison Balsom playing her silver trumpet.
